Originally titled Minimally Invasive Thoracic Surgery, the book was reimagined with Asterizco's guidance, leading to the name Inside—a title that conveys the idea that hope and healing come from within.
Presented in a finely illustrated 456-page volume (29 x 22 cm), Inside is the first Spanish-language book on thoracic surgery written entirely by Ibero-American authors.
Over the past two decades, thoracic surgery has been one of the most rapidly evolving surgical specialties, thanks to recent technological advancements.
As stated on its back cover, the book aims to introduce readers to the world of minimally invasive thoracic surgery through a fluid and reader-friendly narrative.
Its meticulous design harmonizes theoretical knowledge with practical steps, real patient photographs taken by Asterizco, surgical instruments, drainage devices, and access tools, ensuring readers remain engaged while gaining a clear understanding of thoracic procedures.
Each of the 19 chapters is authored by distinguished surgeons from various Ibero-American countries and cities. Some chapters are enriched with personal insights from the editors, adding a touch of closeness and connection with the reader.
